Tobaccobudworm feeds on the buds and petals of many commonly grown flowers, including geranium, petunia, and nicotiana. Damage tends to be worst following mild winters when soil does not freeze deeply. Tobaccobudworms are a major pest of tobacco and cotton plants . They can also wreak havoc as caterpillars ongeraniums in your garden by chomping holes in buds and leaves. Tobaccobudworms can eat entire buds off the plants. Tobaccobudworm larvae attack several ornamental flowers including petunia, rose, geranium, and nicotiana. They feed primarily on buds, petals, and developing seed pods, but will feed on shoot tips and foliage if flower buds are not available. If you ever seen your beloved Geranium flowers get ruined, you will most likely become the victim to what is commonly called GeraniumBudworm which is also called TobaccoBudworm.I find that Captain Jacks to be more effective onGeraniums than Caterpillar Killer.
